CAREN HORSTMEYER - Director
Caren Horstmeyer is a former Pac-10, West Coast Conference and NCAA District VIII Coach of the Year. She was the head women's basketball coach at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Clara University for 17 cumulative years. She grew up in Marin County, a Greenbrae Elementary , Adeliene E. Kent Junior High and Redwood High School graduate. She is a member of the Redwood High School, Marin County and Santa Clara University Athletic Hall of Fame. After her playing career in the states, she played professionally in Athens, Greece. She earned her bachelor and masters degree from Santa Clara University. Caren lives in Marin with her husband, Bill and their two children, 6 and 8. Caren has run camps for 20 years and enjoys her work as a Real Estate consultant, assisting buyers and sellers.  She is also available for basketball consulting for individuals and teams. C.J. HEALY
Former San Rafael Girls Basketball Coach

C.J. is an amazing teacher of the game and specializes in working with post players.  She came to Marin from Canada where she played College Basketball (St. Francis Xavier and University of Ottawa) and had tyouts with the National Team.  She is a P.E. Teacher at San Rafael High School and a mother of 3!  C.J. plays in women's leagues around the Bay Area including the Summer SF Pro Am.  She has coached Varsity and Freshmen basketball at San Rafael High School and has assisted Coach Horstmeyer for the past 3 years at Caren Horstmeyers Girls Basketball Camp.  Basketball is Coach C.J.'s love, second to her own kids, and she is really excited for this year's camp!

DEDE CERRUTI

CYO Basketball Coach
Dede Cerruti is passionate about basketball and the development of the female athlete through the progress of players' skills, character and confidence in a positive enviroment.  She has coached youth sports and won a number of championships.  
Coach Cerruti has been part of Marin County Athletics for a long time, participating in varsity volleyball, basketball and softball for Marin Catholic High School with all-league accolades.  She went on to play softball for both College of Marin and San Francisco State University.

           She has worked for UCSF Medical Center as a registered nurse for the past 17 years as a pediatric orthopedic nurse educator. 

College/H.S. Players

TAKI (Te Manu Whakataki Te Koi)
Captain of the New Zealand National Under-19 Team, Taki has a drive, desire and love for the game.  She has a passion for sharing her knowledge of the game with younger players! Taki is playing basketball for Dominican University where she was named Freshman of the Year in the Cal Pac Conference and helped the Penguins to a third place finish in the league and semi-finish in the Cal Pac Conference.  She is from Rotorua, New Zealand.

MIKAYLA DURANT
Mikayla returns for her third year to coach camp.  She is an outstanding role model and loves working with kids.  She coaches the Kent Middle School girls team and is a natural teacher and coach. 
Mikayla Durant just finished her career as a two sport athlete at Redwood High School.  Her ability to see the floor and use her quickness ath the point guard spot was a great asset for the basketball team and her leadership qualities earned her the award of team captain for the softball team.

ARI WILKES
After participating as a camper in the first year of the Caren Horstmeyer Girls Basketball Camp, Ari was invited back to coach.  We are excited to have Ari return for her second year as a camp counselor. She completed her junior basketball season at Marin Academy where her team went 18-10.    

BAXTER VAN SOEST 
In her second year as a counselor at camp, Baxter will be entering her senior year at San Rafael High School.  She will be an important returning member on the Varsity team next year in the post position.  Baxter has been class president at school for the last 3 years and has always been active in leadership roles at school.

WHITNEY TURNER 
Whitney is in her freshmen season at North Park University in Chicago.  She is a graduate of San Rafael High School and was a 4-year varsity player for the Bulldogs.  This is Whitney's second year working Caren Horstmeyer Girl's Basketball Camp.
